EKATERINA SYTNIK in her exhibit "Searching for meaning"
January 22 - February 9, 2007
On "Searching for meaning":
"...Certainly, the images created by Sytnik are capable of touching someone whose soul vibrates in unison with them. And event that soul might resonate, but then, it might not. But if it does it can as we know originate the destruction – in our case – of a run-of—mill, everyday way of looking at the world around us. Including photography. Thus accelerating consciousness and changing the world. Which is extremely valuable, and not only for a given individual.
I do not know whether Katya will grow to be a famous artist, or whether life will lead her elsewhere, what is certain is that Ekaterina Sytnik is a Proper Noun. And it stands high in both life and art. Every pack of its generation may get at some point a single individual influencing the subsequent mutation of the whole genus. The task of an art critic, according to John Zharkovsky, the American art critic, is to single out that individual from the entire pack. I am not an art critic, but I have come to really love Sytnik - the photographer".
