In April 2008 Informational centre/Bureau “FotoDepartament”, specializing in organizing exhibition, educational and informational projects in the sphere of photography, opened a new space Gallery/Bureau “FotoDepartament” in the very centre of Saint-Petersburg, in the left yard of Roman-Catholic church, on Nevskiy prospect, 32.
The new space of Gallery/Bureau “FotoDepartament” aims at presenting the modern art-photography as work of art and as an available and one of the most actual forms of interior design.
Photography in the gallery is presented both in the form of prints, traditionally put into frames and mates, and in the very modern appearances with no frames – images rolled onto aluminium base or made in the technology of plastic images. Unlike traditional galleries an important part of “FotoDepartament”’s activity is issuing collections of accessories for interior design with authors’ photos, such as phototextile, wall panels, folding screens, bedspreads, cushions, cotton and leather bags, napkins, etc.
The new space was organized in order to form the midst of purchasers fond of art, who are able to comprehend and perceive the new tendencies and trends in the photography, to invest into photography and decorate the interior spaces with photographs. So Gallery/Bureau is one of those few places in Saint-Petersburg, where you can buy the leading Russian art- and architect and interior design magazines. Here you can also find the key Russian and foreign photo albums, books, curators’ and galleries’ combined editions, magazines, photo cards and many other things.
Following the western way of combining within one space a gallery, a shop of unique designers’ things and a bureau, processing orders, FotoDepartament is creating the space, asserting that photography can play the key role in the modern interior design (apartments, offices) and make a real art-present for friends and colleagues.
As a gallery, FotoDepartament presents the works of Russian photographers, among whom the most famous names of classical and modern Petersburg’s photography, such as Aleksandre Kitaiev, Eugeniy Mokhorev, Sergey Maksimishin, Aleksandre Nikiporets, Andrey Chezhin, Liudmila Tabolina, Igor Lebedev, Boris Koudriyakov, Olga Korsunova, Anatoliy Shishkov, Nataliya Tsekhomskaya, Yuriy Molodkovets, Elena Skibitskaya, Aleksey Zelenskiy, Aleksandre Fillipov and others. The gallery also reveals and raises young talented photographers, such as Aleksey Tikhonov, Eugeniy Medvedev-Ma, Sergey Scherbakov, Olesyu Volkova, Nataliya Sizova, Kirill Arseniev, Aleksey Gaponov, Vitala Taouz, Viktor Ginzburg, Anna Shiller, Lena Nasibullina, Maksim Emeliyanov and others.
The space of the gallery also functions as a bureau, where you can purchase designers’ suggestions for interior design and gifts, or make an individual order. Photography can inspire to realization of the most audacious interior design projects. Thus for professionals – decorators, architects, interior designers the Bureau offers the disk with archive of authors’ art-photography with works of both famous and young photographers. For design projects you can use the images from the disk and order at the Bureauphoto prints, photo panels on textile, self-adhesive vinyl, canvas, ceramic bars as well as other design decorations with photos.
As a separate line the Gallery provides a range of services in the sphere of Lux Photography. Everything, connected with photography as work of modern art, can not only be great to look at, become a corporate or private investment or an article of collection, but can also build the image of a company.
